Describe your family: Married to Etienne for 31 years. 3 Beautiful daughters, 2 sons-in-law and currently the greatest joy of my life, my grandchild Khalea.

Wat maak jou gelukkig: My gesin (Etienne en kinders is my anker)/ Khalea, my eerste kleinkind is my hart se punt en die wete van ‘n tweede kleinkind in Feb. 2020 – dus om Ouma te wees/om Geloof te hê, wat my al so baie gedra het tydens moeilike omstandighede/ my 3 honde Bunny, Billy en Fudge/ stilte en die natuur/ stap/ koffie saam my harts vriendinne/ om ‘n uitbundige walvis te sien/ om my “te doen” lysie af te merk (ek is ‘n lysie mens)/ bak en brou in my kombuis/ ‘n goeie boek/ om te reis – plaaslik of oorsee/ om geleenthede te gryp en te skep soos om my eie Makelary te begin, my eie gebou te koop/ my personeel – ek het soveel respek vir hulle. Hulle is toegewyd, hardwerkend, positief, gretig, ondersteunend. Elkeen staan haar skoene 100 % vol!
What makes you happy: My family / Khalea, my first grandchild and the knowledge of a second grandchild in Feb 2020 – so to be Grandma / to have Faith, which have carried me through difficult circumstances / my 3 dogs Bunny, Billy and Fudge / silence and nature / walking / coffee with my friends / to see an exuberant whale playing in the ocean / to tick off my “to do” list (I am a list person) / bake and cooking in my kitchen / a good book / to travel – locally or overseas / to seize and create opportunities like starting my own Brokerage, buying my own Offices / my staff – I have so much respect for them. They are dedicated, hardworking, positive, eager and supportive.
Wat maak jou hartseer/angstig: As iemand wat mag het, ander misbruik of boelie/ Mishandeling van mense, kinders en diere/ Armoede/ Konfrontasie/ om nie voorbereid te wees as ‘n kliënt voor my kom sit vir hersiening nie. Ek het ‘n groot vrees om onbekwaam te lyk en klink. Na 30 jaar in die bedryf is ek steeds senuagtig voor elke liewe afspraak/ As Adviseurs kliënte oortuig om polisse te kanselleer sodat hulle dit kan oor skryf en ek weet dit gaan net oor kommissie/ As kliënte polisse net kanselleer en weggaan sonder om eers redes met ons te bespreek/ ek het ‘n kleintjie dood aan mense wat net op die negatiewe goed fokus en nie positiewe en mooi goed sien nie
What makes you sad / anxious: When someone with authority abuse or bully others – Abuse of people, children and animals / Poverty / Confrontation / not being prepared for a client’s review or appointment, I have a great fear for looking and sounding incompetent. After 30 years in the industry, I still get nervous before every single appointment / When other Advisors convince clients to cancel existing policies and they write new ones with exactly the same cover and I know it’s just about commission / If clients cancel their policies and leave without giving reasons or discussing it with us / I don’t like negative people who focus only on the negative things and do not see positive and beautiful things
Wat behels jou werk: Karin Swart Insurance Brokers is my Korttermyn Maatskappy. Ek het besef dat my kliënte ‘n behoefte het aan meer as een korttermyn produk as opsie vir motor en huis inhoud dekking en ek kon dit net binne my eie Makelary bied. Ek tree ook daar as Sleutelpersoon op en probeer ‘n atmosfeer en geleenthede skep wat my bekwame personeel kan gebruik sodat hulle as mens en versorgers van hulle gesinne kan uitstyg. Ek is ook deel van die Ou Mutual Franchise, Didimata. Om met kliënte te werk en ‘n verhouding te bou is my grootste passie. My dogter, Monique, werk saam met my en maak dit vir my moontlik om tussen Rustenburg en Hartenbos te pendel. My groot passie is Aftree- en Beleggings beplanning.
What your job entails: Karin Swart Insurance Brokers is my Short Term Company. I realized that my clients needed more than one short-term product as an option for car, house contents and business Insurance and I could only offer it within my own Brokerage. I also the Key Person and in charge of Compliance. I try to create an atmosphere and opportunities that my capable staff can use to rise above the rest. I’m also part of the Old Mutual Franchise, Didimata. Working with clients and building a relationship is my biggest passion. My daughter, Monique, works with me and makes it possible for me to commute between Rustenburg and Hartenbos. My big passion is Retirement and Investment Planning.
Watter deel van jou werk geniet jy die meeste: Die verhouding wat ek met my kliënte en personeel het/ As die beleggings groei (nogal ‘n moeilike een in ons huidige ekonomiese klimaat)/ Om nuwe produkte of programme baas te raak laat my baie slim voel/ Om bekwaam te wees as ‘n kliënt voor my sit en die nodige advies te kan gee.
What part of your job do you enjoy the most: The relationship I have with my clients and staff / As the investments grow (quite a difficult one in our current economic climate) / Getting to grips with new products or programs / To be competent if a client sits in front of me and give the necessary advice and guidance/solutions.

What part of your job do you enjoy least: If the investments show poor growth / To talk about fees and commission / If I have to sort out staff issues.
Wat is jou drome vir die toekoms: Hoe ouer ek word, hoe eenvoudiger word my drome en wense, ek wil gelukkig en tevrede wees. Ek wil oud word saam met Etienne en nog baie koppies koffie saam hom drink. My kinders en familie moet gelukkig en tevrede wees. Ek wil die beste Ouma wees en wonderlike tye saam my kleinkinders spandeer. My hond Billy moet ophou om mense te byt en Fudge moet ophou gate grou in die tuin. Ek droom oor ‘n Suid Afrika waar almal in harmonie lewe en goeie waardes het….. Ek droom van beleggings wat groei en kliënte wat finansieel gelukkig is.
What are your dreams for the future: The older I get, the simpler my dreams and wishes become, I want to be happy and content. I want to grow old with Etienne and make wonderful memories. My children and family must be happy and content. I want to be the best Grandma and spend wonderful times with my grandchildren. My dog Billy needs to stop biting people and Fudge needs to stop digging holes in the yard. I dream of a South Africa where everyone lives in harmony and has good values… I dream of Investments growing and financially happy clients.
